A Canadian Goes American

Here’s what you need to know about Carly Rae Jepsen‘s performance of “This Kiss” and “Call Me Maybe” at tonight’s 2012 American Music Awards — she absolutely slayed it. (Incidentally, the preshow interviewer called her “Slayly Slay Slaysen,” so the theme definitely fits.) Looking girlishly pretty, Jepsen first sang her new single “This Kiss” before launching into her beloved smash “Call Me Maybe” — and given that she was one of the best red carpet looks of the night, too, it’s safe to say that she was victorious.
