Ke$ha’s ‘Warrior’ Leak: Listen To Album Standout “Crazy Kids”

Trash-pop goddess Ke$ha‘s upcoming album Warrior doesn’t hit retailers until December 4, but the LP is already beginning to leak in pieces — and an early standout is the Dr. Luke-produced “Crazy Kids.”

Described as this album’s “We R Who We R,” that description couldn’t be more apt, although the production of “Crazy Kids” is more exciting at first listen than the pummeling beat of its predecessor: “Crazy Kids” kicks off with a gently strummed guitar and a “Moves Like Jagger”-esque whistle which builds into a big, euphoric “It Gets Better”-wave chorus, then yields to a throbbing urban beat with typically scabrous K$ rapping on the verses. While we’re still jonesing to hear K$ strip back the production and show off big vocals, this is probably our favorite offering from the Warrior era yet.

Even though Ke$ha’s rapping can grow tiresome, she’s better when she dials up the swagger on a song like this (or “Blow”) than when the lyrics are so vague they start to feel pedestrian, like on “Die Young.” The specific and vividly rendered lyrics on “Crazy Kids” pull off a lot of nimble self-definition, so in case there was any confusion over Ke$ha’s identity, we prepared a quick lyrical analysis of the track for your education:

1. Ke$ha doesn’t give two fucks. 2. Ke$ha is not a hoochie. 3. Ke$ha is neither a Virgo nor a virgin. 4. Ke$ha plans to keep dancing till the dawn.

That’s pretty much it. Listen to the song above.
