By now you’ve seen the Idolator editors’ picks for the 10 Best Albums Of 2012. But we’re also all about the democratic process. That’s why last month, on Election Day, we posted the first part of our readers poll, where we asked you, pop fans, to vote for your favorite album that was released between the months of January and June this year.
Now it’s time to have your say with regards to your fave LP that arrived between the months of July and December. As mentioned last month, when all is said and done, we’ll round up what Idolator readers deem to be their 10 top LPs from 2012. So get involved, and get to voting below!
Note: As this is a two-part poll, it’s also a two-part process. Once you vote, we also want you to leave your thoughts in the comments box below on why you chose that particular album — be sure to include a couple sentences on why you chose that one! We’ll be sifting through your feedback and including it in our final writeup containing your top selections for the Best Albums Of 2012.

Best Summer Album (July-Aug) : Electra Heart
Best Fall Album (Sep-Dec) : Warrior
I’d say my favorite summer album was definitely Electra Heart. Marina is just a goddess and there’s no doubt about it. For fall/winter, it’s Rihanna all the way. I LOVE UNAPOLOGETIC. The best-produced album of the year.
franks ocean album – rules this year!!!
Lotus!
My favorite album is Lotus.
Lotus is by far the best album of the list…. when you put an “A” class singer like Christina Aguilera to work with songwriters like Sia and great producers you end up with a GREAT product. (it may not have charted as it should’ve but that doesn’t change the fact that LOTUS is an amazing musical piece)
A class singer???? Hahahahaha. She is so cheap, and definetely deserves the name FLOPTINA
yes a class singer! she is one of the best! a flop? dont think selling ovr 50 MILLION albums is a flop!
Umm. Ellie Goulding, “Halcyon” all the way. Why wasn’t this an option?
Why wasn’t Alicia keys an option?!
Someone definitely rigged the poll, cuz Lotus is by NO means legitimately winning by this margin. It’s good, maybe even great, but Ke$ha, Rihanna, and Marina brought the heat with their albums. Calvin Harris made one of the best dance albums of the year, and that deserves recognition, too.
Rihanna and Kesha?? You’re dreaming, I supposed!! #LOL
i cant believe that you think Ke$ha’s or Rihanna’s unapologetically bad albums were better than lotus…
no life is good so i did nt vote. bye bye
Marina’s Electra Heart by far. She has done so well over in the U.S. this year and deserves this credit, she’s done far better than Christina’s Lotus.
don’t know where babe #LOL
Frank Ocean, Miguel, Bruno Mars, and Rihanna blew me away this year. I just couldn’t get into LOTUS. I tried so hard, I really did. It wasn’t a cohesive album in my opinion.
where the hell is fun.’s album “some nights?!!”
Well, I voted Ke$ha’s Warrior because the album was obviously made with a labor of love and she got some pretty killer tracks on the album. But then, I noticed Electra Heart was a choice so now i regret my decision.
Kesha’s warrior. Such an amazing album :)
warrior :)
Lotus Rises! love Xtina’s album
where is Lana Del Rey – Born To Die album??
Electra Heart, for sure. Yes, it may not be better than Marina’s The Family Jewels, but compared to the other albums released in this time (maybe not Channel Orange), the album packed a huge amount of punch. It’s smart, fun, emotional, and slick. And you can still tell that it’s Marina’s voice and style shining throughout the entire album. I still hold a grudge against Idolator for giving the album such a low review.
Lotus , the best album of 2012 !
Electra Heart is undoubtedly one of the wisest pop albums. Although it may seem quite shallow or superficial at first sight, we discover that this is actually a depiction of a stereotypical popstar. I love the abundance of different feelings and archetypes presented here: homewrecker, primadonna or teen idle. It’s album for everyone, yet there are still some elements very characteristic of Marina like witty, shrewd lyrics. Absolutely my favourite of 2012!
Electra Heart, definitely. Marina writes great songs and sings so fantastic and in the show I’ve been to she was even more awesome!
Marina is in second place? I’m extremely proud of her, I just saw her this past Sunday. She truly deserves some recognition. She has done an AMAZING job. I’m slightly upset with Christina in general but I can acknowledge why Lotus is winning.
Electra Heart was by far the best because not only did it have a stunning amount of talent but it literally saved my life, js.
Marina is da best!!! Wohoo, Go Electra Heart!
Christina Aguilera is the most powerhouse vocalist , no one can sing like her . She’s the best !
DEFINITELY , XTINA !
Lotus let’s rise
Come on , Fighters ! Let’s rise upon Lotus . The legend is back . Luv u , Xtina .
the crazy christina fans need to stop trolling. not even tryna be disrespectful but c’mon man
Turn up the love , turn down the hate because christina makes the world move .
I voted for Pink, but I thought Marina’s album was amazing and was pleasantly surprised by Carly Rae. I’ve always been a huge Pink fan, and maybe I wouldn’t like her as much if she wasn’t so underrated, but I think her album was great. On first listen, a lot of the songs follow her tried and true formula, but then after giving it a few listens, some of the songs really shine. I think “Try” is beautiful and I was so proud when she owned the AMA stage. Her collaborations with Nate from Fun. and Lily Allen are also unexpected directions for her that will pay off. One of my favorite tracks though is a bonus track, “Time Bomb.” Love.
I also want to say that I really, really like Christina but this album didn’t do anything for me. It came across as desperate, getting Cee-Lo and Blake to contribute for the extra promo during The Voice. I didn’t feel the album was cohesive either. I wish she could do an entire album where she stripped it down to ballads and mid-tempos, similarly to Adele. She doesn’t have to steal a page from the Britney playbook and hide behind a dance beat; she has a great voice and she should showcase it!
Marina’s album is probably one of the best things that has happened to me this year. Before I heard her I had given up on modern music as it is all about sex, drugs, and the dark side of life pretty much and ‘SWAG’. Then I hear Primadonna, and I kinda fell for her uniqueness. One thing that I absolutely love about her music, is how it isn’t edited such that you wouldn’t recognise her live. To me she is absolutely amazing to be able to write and perform songs with this much personal meaning to her (following a really bad break up apparently) without breaking down in concert or during recording.
Marina, you are truly amazing!
I loved most of these albums, but as a whole, I think Electra Heart was the best. The songs all fit together to tell a complete story. Just my opinion :D
Lotus, The best!
Christina should win it . Lotus is a beautiful album. Her voice is like an angel.l
LOTUS…LOTUS…LOTUS…THE QUEEN IS BACK!
The best´s LOTUS:) I love you Xtina♥
LOTUS
MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS – ELECTRA HEART.
I’ve always loved Marina since she released her first album, The Family Jewels. But Electra Heart is so different and the type of music has changed completely and the lyrics too. All of her songs are so meaningful and relatable on this album, about love and wanting to be on top. It’s also brought loads of new fans in. Electra Heart for the win…
Oops you left off Adam Lambert’s album Trespassing–
critically acclaimed but underplayed by US radio which likes to play only its core artists like Bieber, Rihanna, Usher, etc.
Vocally stunning with heart wrenching ballads and pop sensations with dub step and hand clapping energy. Get the deluxe version which has some incredible bonus tracks like Map and Runnn’. Main track standouts include Cuckoo, Underneath, Pop that Lock, Chokehold, Naked Love–heck all of them are great. Album should have been Grammy nominated.
I know right! WHERE is Adam! The world is so messed up. Nobody knows good music anymore. None of these are as good as Adam in my opinion. >_
Adam is in part one of the poll. You can click the link at the top of the post to vote for him there!
It’s a awesome album, Electra Heart is about love, it’s pop, but it’s a pure talent and amazing voice of wonderful Marina Diamandis. I love her.
Floptina sucks. Her album is so boring thats why flopping so hard. My ass is also very talented that it can fart 4 octave LOL
Electra Heart definataley, I love Marina so much to be honest…she is so good live and on her album! Her dances and the effort she puts into her tours and performances are perfect!
@ gorkem go suck ur mother.Lotus is not a flop!
LOTUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
