Wiz Khalifa Day: Pittsburgh Celebrates Wiz On 12-12-12
The Pittsburgh City Council honored hometown rapper Wiz Khalifa by declaring December 12, 2012 “Wiz Khalifa Day.” The O.N.I.F.C. star received the honors Tuesday (December 11) with pregnant fiancee Amber Rose and his mother in attendance. Anyone who knows the Burgh knows it was a good idea to keep the ceremony secret — otherwise, hordes of Steelers jersey-wearing Wiz fans would’ve overrun the building.
“It means a lot to me, being a kid from Pittsburgh and riding the buses and going to school out here and just loving Pittsburgh so much,” Wiz said. “I don’t even feel like I’m doing that great. I can do better and better.” Wiz added that the baby (which will be a Steelers fan despite their L.A. abode) is due in January and that he hopes to marry Rose in the spring.
