Is Azealia Banks Quitting Rap?

Is Azealia Banks dimming the lights on her own 15 minutes of fame? It might appear so. Despite only bursting onto the music scene a little over a year ago, the 21-year-old performer says she wants to quit the rap game. “I’d eventually like to stop rapping. That’s just the honest truth,” she told HYPETRAK TV. “One day I don’t want to rap anymore just because I think it’s kind of tacky. I think it’s very unladylike. I like it, but I think I am going to get tired of it.”

Hm, unladylike. That’s pretty interesting coming from a woman who was featured on the cover of Dazed & Confused smoking an inflated pink condom like a cigar and whose breakout song included a C-word barrage.

But have no fear, while the “212” performer doesn’t want to keep rapping forever, the young dynamo has no plans to step out of the limelight. Azealia says she wants to put out two new records in 2013. After that she hopes to go back to school, take voice lessons and try some other styles. “I definitely don’t see myself remaining a rapper forever. I will remain loyal to music forever,” said Azealia. So, most likely file this one alongside Lupe Fiasco “retiring” and Frank Ocean “not making another album.”
