Frank Ocean Reunites Outkast (Sorta) On “Pink Matter” Remix
Frank Ocean had quite a year in 2012, bravely and publicly disclosing his sexuality and then scoring a colossal success with his debut album Channel Orange. It feels like nothing can stop the Odd Future singer/songwriter, so of course he kicks off 2013 by doing the impossible — namely, reuniting Outkast. Well, sort of…his album cut “Pink Matter” already featured Andre 3000, and now for the remix Ocean has enlisted Big Boi on a verse.
It’s not the Outkast reunion fans have dreamed of, but we’ll take it. While the song initially harbors some emo feelings about makeups to breakups, Big Boi adds his whole other pimp-tastic dimension with clever lines like, “She was the perfect ho…stess.” Hear it below.
