Both Frank Ocean and Adam Lambert had big years in 2012 — Ocean with his rise to popularity and now-infamous coming out by Tumblr, and Lambert with the release of his LP Trespassing — and now they’ve been honored with accolades for it. Ocean and Lambert, along with Gossip (popping around the world), Scissor Sisters (continuing the kiki well into 2013) and Rufus Wainwright (reeking of cigarettes and chocolate milk, probably), are all up for the Outstanding Music Artist at the 2013 GLAAD Awards, which honors gay and lesbian visibility in the media.
The awards will be given out in three ceremonies: The first in New York on March 16, then Los Angeles on April 20 and finally San Francisco on May 11. Way to keep the party going all year long, GLAAD.

Adam Lambert released a great dance/pop album in 2012 called “Trespassing”. It was the first album to debut at No. 1 by an openly gay artist. I like Frank Ocean but I don’t understand the hoopla about him coming out. Lambert has been openly gay before, during and after Idol, has worked hard for the Trevor project, gave a concert on behalf of Marriage Equality and is a great role model for the LGBT youth. I think he is deserving.
