Shakira‘s hips don’t lie, and neither does her official website — the latter of which was updated this evening with the news that the Colombian pop singer and her 25-year-old pro soccer boyfriend Gerard Piqué became proud parents to a baby boy today. Says the artist’s site, “We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain. The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.”
This is the first child for Shakira, 35, who is slated to replace Christina Aguilera on Season 4 of The Voice later this year. (Joining her will be Usher, who will fill the red swiveling chair left vacant by the departing Cee Lo Green.) Shakira’s beau Gerard currently plays centre back for the Futbol Club Barcelona team. ¡Felicidades!, you two.
