New York City duo MS MR are in store for a busy 2013. After crafting one of last year’s best EPs, Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow have already landed spots at SXSW and Governors Ball, and now they’ve announced their debut album Second Hand Rapture will drop on May 14. Produced by Hershenow, with a hand from Tom Elmhirst, the LP comprises 12 tracks including debut single “Hurricane” and new song “Fantasy.”
The new track is full of pianos and stomping drums, but instead of Florence Welch‘s operatic bombast, there’s a grounded restlessness here. Stream it below, and look for MS MR on tour this summer — though at this rate, you might not get to catch them at a venue as intimate as Bowery Ballroom for much longer.
