Just 12 hours after Drake released his new single “Started From the Bottom,” Wiz Khalifa took to the studio and released a remix. “I know that song juss came out lol but i think it speaks to all of us so i put my verse on it before everyone else does,” the Taylor Gang ringleader said on Twitter. Yes, he wanted remix firsties.

Khalifa adds to Drake’s song by adhering to his own motto: “Work Hard, Play Hard, Roll Up.” He flicks his lighter and inhales, before his first few verses trickle out and update listeners on his beef with Waka Flocka Flame: “I just see Waka the other day / He wasn’t tripping, we just talk about the money we been making.” Hear it below.

Perhaps Drake is to blame for the fast turnaround. In “Started From the Bottom,” he retorts, “We don’t like to do too much explaining / Stories stay the same, I never changed it.” And while his verses were likely directed at the press, fellow emcees have probably interpreted them as invitations to elaborate. Case in point: Not long after Khalifa dropped this remix, Soulja Boy dropped his own.
