Britney Spears Is Not Headlining Las Vegas, According To Caesars Palace

It looks like those rumors of Britney Spears doing a Las Vegas residency for $100 million are just rumors after all. Caesars Palace told Buzzfeed that its 2013 lineup offered no room for the former X Factor host, although the hotel is “always interested in having artists with the caliber of Britney Spears performing at our theaters.”

In January, TMZ reported that Spears was close to inking a deal that would also entail nightclub, pool day club and hotel performances. A separate anonymous source told Buzzfeed that Spears is under “serious consideration” for a residency outside Caesars Palace, but not until after she finishes her album. That same source let on that Vegas executives may be hesitant to book Spears because of her tendency to lip-sync, so maybe to seal the deal she’ll have to have her own Beyonce-style mic-dropping press conference.

Spears is working on her eighth album, the follow-up to 2011’s Femme Fatale, with producers Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins and Danja.
