Michelle Obama’s Grammy Picks: Frank Ocean & Kelly Clarkson

It’s quite possible that President Obama and his wife Michelle have the best taste in music in the history of the First Couple. We know Obama’s fandom spans from Jay-Z to Al Green to Bruce Springsteen, but in Michelle Obama‘s new interview with People, we learn that the FLOTUS is no slouch in the music department, either. She predicts Frank Ocean‘s channel ORANGE will win Album of the Year (“He’s a young, innovative performer with a soulful sound”). She also picks Kelly Clarkson‘s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” for Song of the Year, and since Michelle is nominated for a Grammy — it’s true! — we feel she is uniquely qualified to offer up these choices.

The First Lady also revealed that at her first concert — Stevie Wonder — she and her friends were invited on stage to sing. As for pump-up music, Michelle works out to Willow Smith‘s “Whip My Hair” and Beyonce‘s “Move Your Body.” And yes, the latter choice is part of her anti-obesity campaign, so she had to tow the company line there, but there’s no denying the motivational power of Queen B.
