Last night (February 9) in Los Angeles, Justin Timberlake crashed Timbaland‘s performance and joined the super-producer in a live rendition of “Carry Out,” off 2009’s Shock Value II. Timbaland was headlining the launch of mobile app mPower Action — a joint effort between him, his wife Monique and the United Nations Foundation — with Estelle and Timberlake’s former *NSYNC cohort Joey Fatone billed as supporting acts.

Shrieks greeted Timberlake as he stepped on stage, which is exactly the response that the two originally wanted to provoke with their fast-food metaphors: “I have you open all night like you’re IHOP” and “I’m well-seasoned, if you couldn’t tell.”

By making a surprise appearance, Timberlake was repaying a favor. Last week, to close Timberlake’s first live gig in five years, Timbaland stormed the New Orleans stage to perform”SexyBack.”

As Rolling Stone reports, Timbaland will also accompany Timberlake to this year’s Grammys. He is the sole producer of Timberlake’s comeback album The 20/20 Experience, out March 19, and he has new solo music scheduled to drop “ASAP.”
