NBA Is On Fire

Oh, Alicia! For so long, the general consensus was that Alicia Keys could do no wrong, right? She was one of those performers who just always got it right — every song, every performance. But yikes! This last one was a little rough, wasn’t it?

It all started off promisingly enough: Keys was the lead act at the NBA All Star Game halftime show on Sunday night (February 17), where she performed the piano version of “Empire State of Mind,” then led into “Girl On Fire,” her classic “No One,” and finally the uptempo “New Day.”

But once we get past the concrete-jungle-wet-dream-tomato part of “Empire,” things start to get a little sour — vocals strained and off-key, choreography a little bit limp and lifeless.

Maybe all this high-octane pop star foolery is a little much and she should stick with the piano. That seemed to be working better.

No matter how much better she could’ve sang, nothing will ever save the tragedy that is Girl on Fire – some of the worst lyrics/metaphor usage I’ve heard in music as of late.

First of all I feel some people over reacted with the performance. She did pretty good for the first time dancing. And girl on fire is a hot song when I hear it I get live its talking about women in a positive way.

I thought the dancing was on point. She missed a couple of notes, but i liked the otufit and teh routine. Shhas a right to try something new.
