Skylar Grey Unveils ‘Don’t Look Down’ Album Art, Spoiler Alert: She’s Looking Down

Looks like Skylar Grey has been taking some cues from her mentor Eminem. The “C’Mon Let Me Ride” singer revealed the cover art for her debut album Don’t Look Down. It’s, well, interesting to say the least.

The singer formerly known as Holly Brook, is standing in front of a washer and dryer on the cover, looking down (you told us not to look down though, Skylar!) at a bloodied ax proudly laying atop the two machines. Skylar is clad in see-through black lace lingerie, with some stilettos on. Her tattoos are all clearly visible.

Since returning to the music scene two years ago as the songwriter for the Eminem and Rihanna monster “Love the Way You Lie” – along with her parts on Dr. Dre and Eminem’s “I Need a Doctor” plus Lupe Fiasco’s “Words I Never Said” – Grey has been something of an enigma. She was destined for darkness and then dropped the whimsy “C’Mon Let Me Ride” video and confused us all.

If this album art is any indicator of what’s to come from Skylar’s music, then we’re going to have a combination of the two a la dark humor. It’s something Eminem is definitely known for, so she’s clearly learning from the best. Don’t Look Down should arrive some time in the Spring.
