Lily Allen Makes Live Comeback With “Smile” During Paris Fashion Week: Watch

Pop music is just a lonelier place without Lily Allen, isn’t it? It’s been years since we’ve had anything new from the singer-songwriter, after she sort-of retired in 2009 to focus on marriage and family — and with the exception of last year’s duet with Pink, “True Love,” from Pink’s The Truth About Love LP, all’s been quiet on the Lily Allen (or Lily Rose Cooper, as she now prefers) front. Until now!

The chanteuse has been back in the studio with her longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin, and while she still hasn’t premiered any new material, she did make a live appearance this week during Paris Fashion Week’s Etam show. Performing her single “Smile” while models walked the runway (which was a slightly odd set-up), she seemed, well, rather sedate, even if she hasn’t lost her old charm.

Still, a lackluster Lily is better than no Lily at all, and she’s bound to pump it up a notch when new material actually heads our way.

Lily’s performance starts at about 12:30; watch up top.
