K-Pop diva troupe 2NE1 hopped in the studio with will.i.am at some point, and one of their collabs, the very will.i.am-y “Take On The World,” has surfaced online. The girls assert that they’re “up in the sky for real” and ready to “take on the world” atop housey piano chords and shimmering synths — all while massively filtered through Auto Tune, of course.
And, actually, we’re finding this to be a much more enjoyable listening experience than Will’s current global smash with Britney Spears, “Scream & Shout.” There’s something altogether hypnotic surrounding the track itself, plus 2NE1 sound downright bewitching.

ridiculous. S&S deserves its worldwide success, will.i.am knew that if he’s gonna do the same thing with Britney’s voice like other producers, it may debut high in the charts but flop very quickly due to the sudden reduction in radio plays controlled by the DJs. The dance beat in S&S is really danceable, and yet simplistic. Compared to Carly Rae Jepsen’s TIGOY, carly’s new single consists of a very outdated electro chorus which souns like a 2010/2011-production. Therefore, you can see the single cannot enjoy its success on the charts. The electro chorus is uncalled for and otiose. Lastly, I don’t have any comments for this 2NE1 and will.i.am production, while I think that idolator should STOP bashing S&S cause it’s a great dance number that is difficult to bore someone after being played again and again on the radio. DJs are playing this becoz they don’t get bored with that, it’s like a new tune every time they play the song.
Now, now. Don’t get a bee in your knickers. I, for one, get bored every time I hear Scream & Shout on the radio, and one time it put me to sleep and I almost drove off a cliff, but then I woke up and only plowed into a Uni-Mart. So things could always be worse. But probably no worse than Scream & Shout.
As someone who adores 2NE1, this is ok BUT to me it lacks something and though I can’t put my finger on exactly what that is, I still like the song. It is just not as hard-hitting as I expected it to be would be my biggest complaint. These girls are bad ass and this is kiddy-ish.
