Justin Timberlake closed his week-long stint as Late Night with Jimmy Fallon‘s lone musical guest with a greatest hits medley, a high-energy reminder of times before “Suit & Tie.” While backed by four additional singers, three guitarists and a three-piece brass section (whew), the 20/20 Experience singer segued from “Like I Love You” to “My Love” and to “Cry Me a River,” but with a few updates: a few lines from Juicy J‘s “Bandz a Make Her Dance” and, to prove a point, Kanye West‘s most notable words from Watch the Throne‘s “Paris.”

Speaking of greatest hits and hip-hop, Timberlake also couldn’t bear to leave Jimmy Fallon without unleashing a new segment to their “History of Rap” series. Check out the greatest hits medley up top, and then after the jump, watch Justin and Jimmy trace through yet another series of  rap classics — Run DMC‘s “It’s Tricky,” A Tribe Called Quest‘s “Scenario,” Notorious B.I.G.‘s “Hypnotize,” Chamillionaire‘s “Ridin'” — while backed by the Roots.
