Morrissey Cancels Remaining Dates Of U.S. Tour

Due to medical reasons, Morrissey has canceled the remaining 22 dates of his U.S. tour. A bleeding ulcer already forced the former Smiths frontman to postpone three shows, while double pneumonia led him to reschedule his San Francisco concert. “Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour,” a statement says.

Morrissey had also suffered from Barrett’s esophagus, a rare condition in which acid reflux damages the esophagus’ lining. His tour cancellation comes three years after his performance in Swinton, England, when he collapsed after performing just one song. “I didn’t think he looked particularly well but then again, he’s well known as a reclusive character so I sort of thought that was just the way he was when he was on stage,” a fan said the BBC.
