Lil Wayne Reveals That He’s Epileptic, Talks Seizures & Health Scares

Finally, a full explanation for Lil Wayne‘s disconcerting health scare two weekends ago, which led to a string of conflicting reports, mysterious tweets and rumors of his demise (which turned out to have been greatly exaggerated). Weezy stopped by Los Angeles radio station Power 106 to chat about his health — and explain that he’s epileptic.

“The bad news is I’m an epileptic,” he said. “I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizures. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, y’all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious.”

As for why this particular string of seizures was so bad, Wayne explained that he’d been running himself into the ground; he faulted “just plain no stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me, though.” It’s certainly a better explanation than all those rumors about a sizzurp relapse.

And now, Wayne says he’s back at “100%.” Hey, Wayne: Take it easy and stay there.
