Miley Cyrus & Snoop Lion’s “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks”: Listen To The New Track

It’s the return of Miley Cyrus, y’all — and suffice it to say that it’s pretty cool. Major Lazer just premiered a new single from Snoop Lion titled “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” featuring Cyrus on vocals, and the track — produced by Diplo and Ariel Rechtshaid (who are respectively responsible for most of the coolest pop of the last few years) — is an ultra-chill midtempo single: Breezy, summery, and much less serious than that likably melodramatic title suggests.

“Tonight there’s gonna be a whole lot of smoke in the air,” Snoop intones over the bouncy beat, while Cyrus’ hook is pretty emotive: “Is there any possibility that everyone feels like me?” she wonders. With this song: Yup.

If nothing else, it’s a promising indication of the sound Cyrus is tackling on her next release, given the eclectic roster of hitmakers with whom she’s been working. Raise a glass to the memory, fill up on those ashtrays, and listen below.
