J. Cole & Miguel’s “Power Trip” Video: Watch The Grim Tale Of Murder

Some pal J. Cole turns out to be; after enlisting Miguel for chorus duty on Cole’s Born Sinner single “Power Trip,” the rapper repays the Grammy winning crooner by bumping him off in the song’s music video. At least we think it’s Miguel who gets whacked — it’s not quite clear.

At any rate, J. sits brooding in a car outside of a house while Miguel and his woman part for the day. The next thing you know, a car containing Cole and an accomplice goes barreling down the road with a plastic bag, some other debris and, as often happens, a dead body strapped to the roof. The cops pull the vehicle over, but only manage to look in the trunk, where they find a shovel, before moving on. Geez — your tax dollars at work here, people.

Nabil directed the clip for Cole’s “Power Trip,” which was shot in in the 28-year-old rapper’s home town of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

J.’s sophomore LP Born Sinner is due out June 25.
