Michelle Williams’ Fourth LP Due This Summer

Michelle Williams says she will release her fourth solo album this summer. The still-untitled LP, an “urban inspirational” record, will be her  first new music in five years, following  2008’s Unexpected. “It still has a little bit of edge, but because I’ve done the dance music and the R&B, I got to have that side to it too,” Williams said to Billboard.

Producer Harmony Samuels has produced up to ten of the album’s possible 12 tracks, thanks to his work on Kelly Rowland‘s Talk a Good Game. Samuels was working on a track also featuring Williams and Beyonce — not a Destiny’s Child reunion, mind you — when Rowland suggested that Williams hire him.

This month Williams also announced she will produce and star in a reality series that delves into the album’s making, called My Sister’s Keeper. According to her new label Light Records/eOne, a new single should also be coming soon.
