UPDATE: Turns out Yeah Yeah YeahsMosquito isn’t the only new production work out there by Dave Sitek. The TV On The Radio guitarist lent a hand to Kelis‘ soul jam “Call On Me”  “Jerk Ribs,” which just surfaced online. The percussion- and horn-heavy track marks a departure from the 33-year-old songstress’ clubby Calvin Harris collaboration “Bounce,” as well as the French house nature of her last studio album, 2010’s Flesh Tone. It also greatly strays from Kelis’ most recent musical foray, the percolating, minimal Skream number “Copycat.”

There’s very little known about Kelis’ new material, other than the fact that she’s now signed to Sitek’s Federal Prism boutique label and has two (!!) albums on the way in 2013. (The latter bit might just make up for her three-year break in adding to her studio LP output.) If anything, it sounds like she’s fully reinvented her sound once again. And based what we’re hearing with “Jerk Ribs” we’re more than okay with that.
