Pink Announces “True Love” With Lily Allen As New Single

Having nabbed another #1 single with her Nate Ruess collab “Just Give Me a Reason,” Pink is sticking with the formula by releasing another song with a guest spot from a critically adored singer-songwriter: the Lily Allen-assisted “True Love,” a maddeningly catchy standout from her 2012 LP The Truth About Love

According to Digital Spy, the single was announced last week at an RCA label showcase in London, and it’s a canny move for Pink: “True Love” belongs more to the “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” school of snarky pop-rock than it does to her more emotional side — as showcased on “Try” and “Just Give Me a Reason” — so it’s probably a good change of pace; lyrics like, “At the same time, I wanna hug you / I wanna wrap my hands around your neck / You’re an asshole, but I love you” are as groan-inducingly Pink as they come. Allen’s cult following, too, should help buoy interest in the track.

Watch the lyric video up top, and prepare to hear “True Love” everywhere: It’s probably bound to be ubiquitous.
