After learning that TLC would be performing at this summer’s Mixtape Festival for their first full US performance in a decade, the Web was rife with premature declarations that surviving members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas were hitting the road for a full-blown TLC reunion tour, featuring a Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes hologram. But T-Boz and Chilli spoke with Rolling Stone and cleared up all the reports today (May 1).

While they have yet to confirm a tour, Chilli said, “Trust me. It’s going to happen!” As for that rumored hologram, the ladies have yet to work out details of their Mixtape Fest setup, but it sounds like the hologram isn’t happening. Instead, T-Boz said Lopes will be honored during the set with “projections of archival footage” behind the stage. “It’ll be bittersweet because she’s not there, but she’s still there,” Watkins said. “[Audiences] are left with a good feeling, because you see all three of us rock out together.”

The group’s forthcoming album, meanwhile, is happening, and it has guest spots from Drake and Ne-Yo. Watkins and Thomas also recently recorded two new songs with producer Dallas Austin which will be released as singles later this year. “[2013] really is the start of another chapter for us,” Chilli said.
