Madonna To Receive Top Touring Artist Honor At 2013 Billboard Music Awards
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will be honoring Madonna with the “Top Touring Artist” award, which recognizes the highest-grossing touring act of the year, for her 2012 MDNA tour. The tour grossed over $305 million, with the Queen of Pop performing 88 sold-out shows in front of an audience of 2.2 million.
No big deal.
As Billboard notes, Madonna holds her own on the charts with a record of the most top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1s on the Dance Club Songs chart. She was also recently named Billboard’s Top Money Maker of 2012. (Again, no big deal.)
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards airs live on ABC from Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, May 19 at 8 p.m.
