J. Cole’s “N****z Know”: Hear The Boastful Track
While Kanye West is taking the minimalist, mysterious approach leading up to the June 18 release of his next album, J. Cole is putting himself out there ahead of his release day face-off with Yeezy. For his latest move, Cole has dropped another Born Sinner track, “Niggaz Know.”
On “Miss America” he was angry, on “Power Trip” he was smitten and here he’s the victor, gloating to rivals while channeling his hip-hop heroes. Case-in-point: the whole first verse is a loose interpolation of Notorious B.I.G.‘s “Notorious Thugs” verse. Cole also raps “Country ass nigga with a Audemars / Can’t spell the shit but I order more,” which calls to mind Kanye’s “All Falls Down” line “I can’t even pronounce nothin’ / Pass that ver-say-see.” Listen to the track below.
