Cher Thanks Gay Fans For Their Loyal Support In NYC: Watch

Cher reminded the world — yet again — why she is the epitome of perfection by expressing her gratitude to gay fans at Marquee nightclub in New York City last night (June 27). The 67-year-old goddess addressed the crowd, saying: “From the bottom of my heart, I mean this. I’ve had ups and downs in my career and you guys have never left me.”

“I was out, I was uncool, I was whatever… a has-been, but you guys have always been there,” the Twitter legend continued. “I never thought I would be around this long.” Cher then watched a runway tribute to her iconic existence, bopping along to her own tunes.

No footage of the diva’s “Woman’s World” performance has surfaced yet but it promises to be amazing given her glamorous outfit, which included a gold headpiece. Watch Cher’s touching speech after the jump.

In other news, the Burlesque star spoke with Out Magazine about DOMA being stuck down. “I had a lot of gay friends that were texting me and tweeting me and calling,” she said. “It’s something that, really, I don’t really understand how we had it in the first place. Like, how did people get away with that kind of shit?” Queen.
