Miley Cyrus Talks Favorite Female Singers: “Lil Kim Is Who I Am On The Inside”

Miley Cyrus has already done a fine job of distancing herself from her Disney days, but listening to her favorite artists provides an especially cogent reminder that she’s all grown up (and rather turnt up, too): In an interview with Billboard as part of her cover story, the songbird listed wildly disparate influences, from Dolly Parton (her godmother) to Nicki Minaj (her radio contemporary) to Beth Hart (who?). There’s some funny part of me that hopes her album really sounds like all of them at once.

The best moment of the interview, though, is when she cites Lil Kim as one of the greats: “In my past life, I feel like that was me,” she says. “I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside.”

Sure, Miley. Watch up top.
