Ashanti’s “I Got It”: Hear Her New Song With Future
“I just like to celebrate my accolades,” Ashanti sings in her new song “I Got It.” So she does: As Atlanta rapper Future falls back to act as her warbling hype man — “Push it to the limit, push it, push it to the limit” — her breathy voice leaps and twists around the song’s simple beat, as if it can’t be contained.
“I Got It” arrives after Braveheart was supposed to have dropped June 11, after having been delayed for the majority of 2013. The song currently appears on DJ Ty Boogie‘s new mixtape STR8 RNB, Pt. 6, and it follows a few other terrific singles that Ashanti has released off her new album Braveheart, the unabashedly pop number “Never Should Have” and her sassy duet with Busta Rhymes, “The Woman You Love.”
In short: While the wait for Braveheart has been long and frustrating, at least Ashanti’s delivered new music along the way. Check out “I Got It” after the jump.
