Jennifer Lopez thinks that she’s still “Jenny from the Block,” according to a preview of her new TV series Jennifer Lopez: Her Life, Her Journey. “Do I belong here?” she says. “I’m just this girl from the Bronx who grew up on Castle Hill.” A split second later though, the clip shows what Lopez means by “here”: her recent Hollywood Walk of Fame induction.

Lopez has been profiled many times through TV specials before, such as E! True Hollywood Story, Made in Hollywood and Barbara Walters‘ annual The Ten Most Fascinating People special (twice!) — but Her Life, Her Journey will be the first shown on Latino network NUVOtv, where Lopez acts as chief creative officer.

Perhaps thanks to that pedigree, the show promises interviews with Lopez’s mother and older sister, Lupe and Leslie respectively, plus famed music executive Tommy Mottola (Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Shakira). Then again, Lopez has long been willing to break down her accomplishments in TV, film and music — as she has said herself, “I hit the spotlight, all night, ready to go.”

Jennifer Lopez: Her Life, Her Journey debuts July 18 at 8 p.m. EST. Watch the clip up top.
