While she showed off a polished aesthetic on the cover of the August issue of Marie Claire, Nicki Minaj‘s interview with the magazine gave us insight on the rap mogul’s career aspirations and her future plans for acting.

Here are a few revelatory items we gathered from the interview:

1. Minaj was approached by director Nick Cassavetes for her first feature film role after he saw the rapper as a judge on American Idol, casting her as Cameron Diaz‘s assistant in the upcoming film The Other Woman. She says, “[Idol] made me seem more relatable to the everyday person. It’s cracked that shell for my image. I’ve become something bigger than Nicki Minaj.”

2. Although she’s not returning for a second season, Idol also helped the rapper break down her cartoonish persona and switch her fashion sense to a more genuine look. “I started feeling more comfortable with less,” says Minaj, commenting on her toned-down look.

3. The always unpredictable Minaj sees herself leaving the music industry after “[at least] three more albums” and moving on to the next chapter of her life, whether that’s acting, motherhood, or some unforeseen career move. “I’ve kind of become the poster child,” she says, “for doing the things that no one expects.”

But don’t fret, Barbz — the article claims that the rapstress’ third studio album, tentatively titled The Pink Print, is due out next year.
