Ciara‘s new album Ciara is just so good (seriously, buy it) that it’s easy to forget about the R&B songbird’s extraordinary legacy as one of the fiercest performers in the last decade. Can we talk about that 2004-2006 era?
That’s where CiCi took it back to when she stopped by 106 & Park yesterday to perform not “Body Party,” not “I’m Out,” but rather, a ferocious medley of her earlier hits — kicking off with “Goodies” before transitioning into “Like A Boy,” “1, 2 Step,” “Oh,” “Lose Control” and “Promise.”
The most impressive thing about it is that her dance moves have remained so flawless, going on a decade later — she can still execute that choreography with a litheness and precision that’s uncanny. She’d been gone for too long. It really was time for her to bring it back.
