In case you didn’t get the memo, today is officially Who Can Outdo The Other With Their Respective Album Release News: Lady Gaga Or Justin Timberlake? Day. Unlike Mother Monster, however, JT isn’t making us wait a month for a new single. “Take Back The Night” has arrived, in all its late-’70s, Michael Jackson-esque glory, and so has official news of The 20/20 Experience – 2 Of 2.

Out on September 30, the 11-track, second part of Timberlake’s sales champ 20/20 is now available for pre-order on iTunes, as is the deluxe The 20/20 Experience – The Complete Experience, which — you guessed it — contains all 21 tracks from both releases. (Of course, it’s not totally the “complete experience,” given that Target bonus tracks “Dress On” and “Body Count” seem to have been left out in the cold. But I digress.) “Take Back The Night” comes as an instant download for those who pre-order either 2 Of 2 or The Complete Experience.

Rather mysteriously, a press release for the upcoming material states that JT has included a “special surprise,” in addition to the 11 new tracks.

“I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago,” says Timberlake. “But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs there were so many that I loved — I couldn’t resist… I had to throw in something extra on the 2nd half.”

That’s about the gist of it all. So far, for now, we have “Take Back The Night,” which is sounding decent in a purely “okay — it’s Friday, it sounds like MJ, I’m feeling it” respect. However, let’s face it — what we all really want is another “Mirrors.”
