Robin Thicke’s “Ain’t No Hat 4 That”: Hear The Song Co-Written By His Father Alan Thicke

So many things to talk about with this one! Robin Thicke‘s label has gone and dropped yet another Blurred Lines track ahead of the album’s July 30 release, and in addition to being another track with a number in the title, “Ain’t No Hat 4 That” is another nimble dancefloor jam. Like Justin Timberlake‘s “Take Back The Night,” it channels Off The Wall‘s breezy disco-funk sound. (Look, we know the comparisons between Thicke and JT are played out, but how can we not use that card for this recent stretch of songs? Are we sure the two dudes aren’t morphing into one? Not a complaint, by the way, we love the output from both. They’re in the zone right now.)

Also, the song was co-written by Robin’s father, Alan Thicke. Yes, he of Growing Pains. Turns out Alan is an established writer of TV theme songs and has a few pop songs to his name. Maybe Robin should think about recruiting dad for some more material —  and we want to know which of them is responsible for this SAT-worthy line: “Some say her temperament’s obstreperous.”
