:: Elton John is already unofficial British royalty, but now the international superstar will be receiving another major accolade – this time by the BRIT Awards. The singer will be honored with the newly created “Icon” award when the show airs from London on September 2. John called the honor “a tremendous honor and a real thrill.” [Billboard]

:: There’s more trouble in the water for Chris Brown. The singer plead not guilty to his misdemeanor charge in Los Angeles in regards to his hit-and-run incident back in May. Because of the event a judge revoked his Rihanna-related probation, and if it’s found that he violated the probation he faces up to four years in jail.[Rolling Stone]

:: Andre 3000 is making a comeback in film with his new Jimi Hendrix biopic. Titled All Is By My Side, the rapper plays the legendary guitarist during the years before he made his big break. Unfortunately the original Hendrix classics won’t be featured due to his estate’s refusal. The film will premiere at Toronto’s Film Festival in September. [SPIN]
