Rising country music singer Rachel Holder received a little help from Carrie Underwood on her new rock-influenced single “Lord Help Me”. Namely, the American Idol winner wrote the catchy jam. A long time ago. The old demo got a second chance at life when Holder stumbled across it and thought it had potential.

“I heard Carrie’s demo with just her vocal and a guitar,” she told CMT. “I knew there was really something there. But I didn’t know for sure that Carrie had actually written it until after I’d recorded mine. So when I was singing it, I put my own spin on it.” It’s easy to see why Rachel fell in love with the track. Don’t be put off by the title. It’s not about religion — rather relationship woes. Listen to the infectious single after the jump.
