Drake’s “All Me” Featuring Big Sean & 2 Chainz: Hear The New Song

Drake dropped a new song from his forthcoming Nothing Was The Same set, due out September 17 — and surprise! It’s a vaguely gloomy, simultaneously self-lacerating and self-congratulatory song about the vicissitudes of privilege and autonomy. In brief, it’s still hard to be Drake. It’s nice that he’s been able to generate such a distinctive artistic perspective, but a little variation might be nice.

“Got everything, I got everything / I cannot complain, I cannot / I don’t even really know how much I really made / I forgot, it’s a lot,” he raps by way of opening. You get it. We’ve been down this road before.

An injection of levity comes by way of guest features from 2 Chainz and Big Sean, who lighten the mood a little bit, respectively. Big Sean’s bit about Naya Rivera (“My new girl is on Glee and shit / Probably making more money than me and shit”) is clever and well-executed, and 2 Chainz is, well, 2 Chainz.
