Kanye West’s Surprise “New Slaves” Appearance At Travi$ Scott’s Show Was Bonkers: Watch

We’ve briefly mentioned Travi$ Scott around these parts, but for those of you unfamiliar with the up-and-comer: he’s signed to Kanye West‘s Very G.O.O.D. Beats as a producer, and T.I.‘s Grand Hustle as a rapper. Scott notched a few production credits on Yeezus, and a couple months ago released his debut mixtape, Owl Pharaoh, which is batshit insane and certainly shares some DNA with Kanye’s latest.

So, that’s how Scott had the pull to get a cameo from the reclusive Kanye West during his performance at L.A.’s El Rey last night (August 1). Scott was a master showman, turning off all the house lights, and telling the crowd he was about to be joined by one of his biggest mentors. Then that stark “New Slaves” beat kicks in, the lights go up to reveal Yeezy on stage, and the crowd loses it. You can’t even hear West’s first verse: it’s pure, ecstatic mayhem, with Scott shedding his shirt and stage diving.

Do people still say “off the hook”? Because this was off the fucking hook. Check it out up top, and see some of Scott’s tweets about the cameo below. (Also? Travi$ Scott is gonna be huge, you guys.)
