Lorde‘s status as the next big thing is confirmed by a new hip-hop remix of iTunes-conquering hit “Royals”. You know you’ve made it when rising MCs jump on your track! Produced by RAAK, the surprisingly effective urban makeover features Gilbere Forte. Who? Well, pop fans might remember the LA-based rapper’s verse on Bob Sinclar and Sophie Ellis-Bextor‘s “F**k With You”. (Or not).
It turns out Gilbere is signed to Epic Records and has a record about to drop, hence the buzz-raising remix action. It turns out to be a smart idea. Lorde’s hypnotic tune has a subtle, head-nodding beat that lends itself to reinvention.
