Katy Perry Gets Emoji-Happy In “Roar” Lyric Video: Watch
Katy Perry is known for her cheeky pop culture references (remember that cameo-filled mini-movie for “Last Friday Night”?), and her lyric video for her new single “Roar” is no different. The video, which opens up with an all too familiar iPhone alarm, is pretty much a very long group message filled with endless emojis on the always-reliable Whatsapp (iMessage, who?).
From tigers to speakers to flames and those curious dancing twins, the playful emoji visuals amplify the anthemic vibe of the pop star’s tune. “Roar” is Perry’s first single from her fourth studio album Prism, which is slated for an October 22 release.
