*NSYNC Reunion Performance At MTV VMAs Actually Happening…Says Joey Fatone’s Dad

What a Justin Timberlake-filled year it’s been so far. Sure there was that whole 20/20 Experience thing. But let’s get down to brass tacks: *NSYNC‘s debut album turn 15 a few months back, and we’re all just glad that “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors” were successful enough to provide the catalyst for the boy band’s reunion at this Sunday’s (August 25) MTV Video Music Awards.

We know you’re probably thinking, well, this is all only a rumor. But not so, says Joseph Fatone, Sr., father of *NSYNCer/My Big Fat Greek Wedding thespian Joey Fatone. According to a report, the elder of the two confirmed that his son will indeed be re-joining his onetime bandmates on stage this Sunday for a performance.

Along with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake will head to the VMAs as one of the most-nominated artists at this year. (JT, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis stand to win moonmen in six categories, including Video Of The Year.) Timberlake is also the recipient of the 2013 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

So, anyway, let’s get to the part you all came here to read — the quotes by Joey Fatone’s dad, as published by Radar Online today:

“They’re doing a performance. I think it’s exciting… I couldn’t even say why he’s doing it though. Why, at this point in his life. Now he’s his own man. But it’s more to the fact that MTV has made them all somewhat of stars, and also made Justin a star.”

“I don’t even know what has gone into this performance… I plead the fifth. I would suggest that you tell all your readers and everyone on the Internet, all your social media, tell them to watch!”

There you have it. Every other boy band out there, you’re apparently about to get schooled.
