Ellie Goulding Joins Taylor Swift To Perform “Anything Could Happen”: Watch

While Ellie Goulding can excite a crowd on her own (see: her Lollapalooza set), she should consider teaming with Taylor Swift on stage more often. Goulding joined Swift as a surprise guest for the latter’s fourth consecutive night at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, to perform her 2012 single “Anything Could Happen” — and the VMA nominees made for a good team.

Goulding was calm but charming, while Swift asked the crowd to scream and light up the arena: “Put anything that you have lit up, up.” Then, when Goulding raised her voice to build up to the song’s last chorus, Swift asked everyone to jump — and the sight of a few thousand heads, hands and glow sticks bobbing in an arena is pretty great, if not the sort of response that “Anything Could Happen” deserves.

While in Los Angeles alone, Swift has asked Sara Bareilles, Cher Lloyd and Tegan and Sara to perform alongside her during her Red tour. (Carly Simon even joined in on the fun, to perform “You’re So Vain.”) Watch “Anything Could Happen,” happen (sorry) up top.
