2 Chainz paused his Made in America Festival set for what he called a “serious moment,” a move that threw his hypeman off. By then, the Atlanta rapper had divided his time nearly equally between album cuts and guest verses in order to holler through a greatest-hits set of his best punchlines. As Jay Z saw from backstage, 2 Chainz is kind of a big goofball.

“I want to have a moment of silence,” he said, pausing — “for this stage because I’m killing this shit.” Then, without hesitation because duh, 2 Chainz launched into “I’m Different,” a song that references Craftmatics and inspired him to let out his ponytail, turn around and dip his head backwards to illustrate a key line: “Hair long, money long / Me and broke n—-s, we don’t get along.” (Whoa.) Turns out, 2 Chainz takes having fun very seriously.
