Lorde Covers ‘Billboard’, Tells The Music Bible She Hates Doing Interviews
All hail the dark Lorde. Of course, I’m talking about the 16-year-old alt-pop sensation behind summer-defining top 10 hit “Royals”. She covers the latest issue of Billboard — looking positively regal in a vintage gown. Her long hair braid and porcelain skin add to the illusion that the talented Kiwi belongs to another time and place. A sentiment that is reflected in the interview.
“In a perfect world, I would never do any interviews,” Lorde tells the music bible. “And probably there would be one photo out there of me, and that would be it.” Not exactly publicity friendly then. The reason? “I feel like mystery is more interesting,” she says. “People respond to something that intrigues them instead of something that gives them all the information — particularly in pop, which is like the genre for knowing way too much about everyone and everything.”
