Bruno Mars Set To Perform At Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show

Bruno Mars will perform at the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show on February 2, according to the Associated Press. A source spoke on the condition on anonymity, but also said that the NFL will make an official announcement today at New York’s Times Square.

Such a story should sound familiar: Beyonce‘s Super Bowl halftime performance from this year was reported exactly the same way.

UPDATE: It’s official — see a trailer for his halftime performance after the jump.

As he wrapped the U.S. leg of his Moonshine Jungle tour, Mars performed and won twice at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, for Best Male Video and Choreography. His victories were overshadowed by the cartoonish, Diane Martel-directed performance by Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke at the time, but a Super Bowl performance could help remind the US public that Bruno Mars is indeed a treasure. (We hope so anyway.)
