Eminem’s “Berzerk” Music Video: Kendrick Lamar, Rick Rubin & Kid Rock Help Channel Slim Shady

We’re not quite ready to declare that Eminem has fully resurrected Slim Shady, but that certainly seems to be the what’s going on with Em during The Marshall Mathers LP 2 era. There’s the throwback imagery and lyrics of lead single “Berzerk,” plus its K-Fed and Kardashian jokes, not to mention the fact that Em is again rocking a yellow dome and acting like a complete buffoon (as we saw during his bizarre, purposely uncomfortable ESPN interview over the weekend).

And with that in mind, the “Berzerk” music video dropped, and it certainly felt like vintage Em. The Detroit rapper (for one song at least) has removed the self-serious cloud that was overhanging his prior album, but managed to eschew the cartoonish jackassery of his earlier clips. It’s a more refined Shady, if you will.

Keep your eyes peeled for appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Rick Rubin and (ZOMG) Kid Rock among shots of a giant boom box and found footage of fights.
