Avicii Teams Up With Dan Reynolds For “Heart Upon My Sleeve”: Listen To The Moody ‘True’ Highlight

Expectations for Avicii‘s debut LP True shot through the roof when “Wake Me Up” topped the charts around the world and leapt into the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100. The album officially drops next week but has surfaced online a little early. It’s an exciting set of gently experimental floorfillers that effortlessly straddle both the pop and EDM worlds.

Take the Swede’s collaboration with Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds. “Heart Upon My Sleeve” begins softly with acoustic guitar before Avicii’s trademark swooping synths kick in — accompanied by menacing strings, no less. “Heart upon my sleeve, broken down” sings Dan plaintively before the moody beats take over. Listen to a LQ radio rip after the jump.
