Cher Is *Not* A Miley Cyrus Fan: “She Can’t Dance, Her Body Looked Like Hell”

Cher knows a thing or two about ruffling feathers and performing in a racy get-up. Miley Cyrus does not — according to Cher. The Closer To The Truth diva spoke to USA Today, when the topic of Miley and her 2013 MTV VMA performance came up (as is required in every interview with a music personality now), which caused Cher to come in like, um, a wrecking ball. (We’d say Cher snatched her wig, but as you know, there’s no wig to snatch.)

After saying the infamous VMA performance “was so bad,” Cher straight up laid into Miley: “I’m not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she’d just rocked the house, I would have said, ‘You go, girl.’ It just wasn’t done well. She can’t dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn’t great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don’t stick out your tongue if it’s coated.” Oof! It’s a “Woman’s World,” and that world is ruthless.

Cher added, “If you’re going to go that far, then think about it before you do it.” Cher is one of the few notable musicians to criticize Miley’s performance (Kelly Clarkson also had some choice words), with most offering some sort of variation on the “let her do her thing/it’s the VMAs what do you expect?” reasoning.
